Overview of His Career

Greg Vadimsky

Greg began this journey on July 29, 1964 in Somerville, New Jersey. There he began piano lessons at age 7 with Robert Marripodi from Julliard University. His family moved to Melbourne, Florida in December of 1972, and he continued his music studies with Mary Louise Stephenson. Eventually, he won the Florida State Piano Championship in two separate years.

In 1979, his band begun with younger brothers Glen (drums) and Garrett (guitar) made its debut. The band was called SPECTRE (not named after James Bond's bad guys), and within 3 years, had a record contract with ISC Records, distributed through the WAA Group. SPECTRE won the "Best New Artist" award at the 1982 MUSEXPO in Miami, Florida. Throughout the 1980's Greg also played with Xciter and The Dark. In the 1990's he toured and recorded extensively with many artists, eventually founding TANGO PALACE with brother Garrett and drummer Brian Arnold. This band became a featured headlined at Walt Disney World's Pleasure Island.

Over the years, Greg has performed on hundreds of recordings and toured throughout the United States and England. His original music has been heard in a variety of films, television programs, and commercials. Beginning film soundtrack writing/arranging/production in 1994, his film credits include:  MOTIVE, IN NO SENSE LOST, MID-LIFE CRISIS, SHEN, SECRETS OF A MEDICINE MAN, Z, HOLIDAY SEASON, and AMERICAN SOUTH.

Greg's original pop/rock/alternative styled music has also begun being released, starting with a collection of home and studio demos entitled THE KING OF WEATHER HILL.  He still performs approximately 180 live shows a year with various acts, including his own solo piano/vocal performances, the duo GREG & BRIAN, and others.
